Today, we have official news: The StarCraft II beta will be starting soon.

If this is something that's made you spill your morning coffee in anticipation, we've got all the details about what you need to do to opt-in - basically, sign up with Battle.net, opt-in to upcoming Blizzard betas through the Account Management setting, and then upload a snapshot of your system specifications using their handy software.

Still got questions? We've got a very useful FAQ that should settle any nagging queries you might have. Incidentally, while this is great news, it looks like "soon" might not be quite as quick as we'd hoped, with Blizzard revealing that if you sign up today, you will be notified "in the coming months". Good luck!

 

I've signed up, loaded a CD key for Starcraft, then tried to opt-in, but keep getting error codes. I will try again tomorrow I guess.
