WoW - "the most dangerous game on the market"

Don't get me wrong boys, I love to play some Eve from time to time. However, it suffers from one fatal flaw. It plays way to much like a single player game. This mixed with the steep learning curve and slow game play (yes, it is slow, you can argue it any which way from Sunday, but no matter how you look at it, it takes a long time to do anything in that game) will keep it from ever hitting the mass market.

This is a good thing mind you, imagine if 11.5 million Warcraft subscriptions stopped playing Warcraft and signed up for Eve. It would be chaos. Even if only a fraction of them decided to drop and come play it, CCP would have their hands full. (plus all of you would be bitching.)

This is something that I enjoy in fantasy MMO's, cause it provides a way to, on the fly, meet up with characters that are on the same quest as you and want to party up.

I have a wait and see attitude. I would really like walking around in stations, sending landing parties down to strange planets, starting mining ops on said planets, and subjugating the local population, human or otherwise, of same planet.

 

I'm all for that.

last time i really posted on eve o was to prod the LARP population who were having joygasms at the idea of "walking around and socialising in stations" and pointing out that not only would I want a mechanism that allowed me to mug them and then kick them to death where possible, but the if CCP's past attitude to non consensual PvP were anything to go by that it would most likely be part of the whole experience :biglaugh:

if you get into some pVP - FW or RvB its too fast..
soem things take time.. thats a fact.. on the other hand i like things complicated
