Gaijin is a Japanese company that has been producing MMO games for a number years now. Their latest and greatest offering is 'War Thunder'. OK, it's definitely a poor choice of names, probably translated from a cool sounding Japanese name!
Anyway, currently it's a WWII warplane sim, but they have plans to expand into tanks etc at some stage. They already have AI tanks as targets for the planes. The game has multiple battle modes, more than WOWP, and is a lot cheaper to play.
    Worth taking a look at!

How can free to play WOT & WOWP be any cheaper to play?
With this new game it sounds like they could be jumping on the WOT band wagon and playing catchup.
It would want to be pretty good to make people jump ship.

    Worth a look I suppose.

Here is the web address: http://warthunder.com/en/

I have registered as a beta tester and will download it tonight.
The graphics look really good and perhaps a worthy contender for the WOT etc crown.

Have been playing it today, only has the aircraft mode at the moment. I'm not a big fan of aircraft games but this one is pretty damn awesome, if they can integrate vehicles and ships as they look like they want to do then IMO they are going to be a real contender with the World Of series.

Prices look about the same though. In fact they have copied the credit/gold system from WOT almost exactly. Their website is almost an exact copy as well! The game play is very good and I like the garage battle system _ I can almost taste the panic at WG. Bet they are working furiously on getting more game modes into WOT and WOWP.

Their website only looks the same because they use the same shitty forum software etc.

I'm not sure I like it but I'll give it another go. The graphics in the tutorial are very 1990's

I would say the graphics were more flight sim'sh than 90's myself, they are quite different to WoT''s that would class as more 'cartoonish' ... not that there's anything wrong with that.

To me that gameplay is a stack load better than WoWP and as I said earlier will be interesting to see how they integrate land and sea into it.
