MMORPG: Soul of the Ultimate Nation

I just started this today. It's a free MMORPG by IJJI. I enjoy the graphics, but up to level 8, the play is pretty structured in PvE. Looks like you can only play characters defending the Empire against various foes. My first character is a crossbow wielding babe (of course), named Charity :D. The combat that I have been in with the crossbow is basically point and the character keeps firing until something is dead. I controls are basically the same as other games, and that's why I like that part of the game. I think I got to a point this afternoon where I am going to have to party to kill a baddy beastman boss, cause I just got my clock cleaned trying it alone.

    How to:

Go get the IJJI Reactor, which is basically a client downloader plus a game starter. http://www2.ijji.com/reactor.nhn

Then you can download the game right through the reactor.

I have enjoyed this afternoon's play, and the price is right, so we will have to see about long term playability.

I enjoyed it yesterday, and was thinking about it today while at work downtown. I teamed up last night with a group and beat the heck outta the beastman boss, then got another job weeding out beastmen and their armored dogs on a bridge. Of course I didnt' bring a group so after getting beat up pretty bad, I headed back to town to re-arm and find some friends.

I just got home and realized that IJJI's FPS "Alliance of Valiant Arms" was starting Beta today, so I've been testing it. I hope to write a short review later this week, if time permits. My first impression of it is that it's Enemy Territory with Unreal 3 engine graphics, but I've only played about an hour.

Hopefully though I can play my deadly character Charity after supper. I bought her a new two handed crossbow last night before I went to bed. Maybe she can cook some beastman chops with it. ;)

Ok, so I started a berserker character, so I could try to write a review for Cfods, and what the heck, I found out there's apparently another level in the game that I didn't even see. I think you can form battle maps to play out mini-games in, if I am not mistaken. I have to look at this later if I play some more tonight.

My new berserker is named Hansuke, and he has a BIG sword. ;) Today I got this character to level 11 within an hour or so, cause I knew what was going on. Then teamed up with about 5 others to hunt down Cerebus boss. We got our butts handed to us on a stone cold platter; but it was GREAT!

If I get a chance to play tonight I will check out the battle zones so I can work on a review.

Looks like Webzen is beta testing the game for the rest of the world at http://sunonline.webzen.net/.

In the meantime, here's a screenshot of one of my characters (Charity), near a guardshack close to a portal:

Yep, but it looks like the rest of the world can play when Webzen opens up their servers on October 21. http://sunonline.webzen.net/

It doesn't look like I will be able to play on the same servers as you can. This is the message I found in their forums:

The following is a listed of countries which DO NOT have the access to Soul of the Ultimate Nation, published by Webzen.com

    - USA, Canada, Mexico and UK ( For official website, go to http://www.ijji.com )

    - Korea ( For official website, go to http://sunonline.hangame.com )

    - Japan ( For official website, go to http://www.sunonline.jp )

    - China ( For official website, go to http://sun.the9.com )
