I haven't been able to get into a battle yet because of various issues. I almost got in one time, but then had some kind of directX error. It's standard alpha testing routine, so I'm not bothered too much.

Added: I see that they just sent out 2000 alpha keys. That may explain some of the server slowness.

I got in the server a couple of times. After reducing the video resolution in game, i was able to offset the lag on my machine. The maps are big, so I need to spawn closer to the front lines.

I even got to ride a bicycle!

I got in today after 5-10 trys throughout the day. Most of the time the server is running slow and I get a "no connect". Made enough game cash to buy my first soldier so I wouldn't have to play with the default guy.

    GebhardFertig is his name. :)

I think they need to work on server load. I get in at odd times, I guess when server population is low. This what alpha testing is about. I wish you guys could get in.

Good. Just remember that it's alpha. You might have trouble getting on server. It usually takes me up to 10 trys during the day before i connect. I think you will like it through. It's reminiscent of COD UO to me but with HUGE maps. We will definitively need squads of OLDr's to play well in the game when it goes public.

hint: If you get lost, just use the M key and look for the little arrow which shows your facing and where you are on the tactical map.

Played it for about 2 hours last night, didn't have any trouble getting on, but I suspect that was due to it being 'off peak' for the server.

First impressions of the game is it was very good, sort of CoD:UO meets WWII Online, really quite enjoyed the run around I had.

It was a hoot for me this last weekend. But I did bring a MG to a tank fight once...only once.;)

I had a LOT of fun in the final plays of one war. We were trying to protect the Fuehrer's Bunker from the invading American horde. It was great fun for an hour or so. We managed to delay them over and over again. With a dedicated squad on TS, it would have been Glorious!

I played a few more hours this weekend and the game just grows on me. The more I play it the more like an updated version of CoD:UO on a larger scale it appears to be. Is so nice to play a game that hasn't been 'dumbed' down, the weapons actually have recoil, for example sure you can fire off 8 quick shots with a Garand, but unless you pause between them then the first will pretty much be at the target but the rest will spray - glorious lol.

Tanks are a sort of a mix between arcady type and RO, to hit anything and stay safe you have to be 'in' the tank, one of my favourite past-times is to track a tank and wait for the commander/gunner to pop their head up and BAM, they be dead :).

Aircraft I've not tried except to parachute out of one.

Teamwork is a must in this game, not really any room for solo artistes.

The game IS pretty much in Alpha and is quite buggy, but if you enjoyed the early versions of CoD I recommend you sign up for an alpha key and give it a go. If they continue development on the current lines then I reckon they've got a winner. Best of all it's free to play :D.
