Dear Santa Claus, for this year I want seventeen trillion dollars in assorted stocks, my own satellite planet, a never-ending box of TV snacks and my very own arcade, where bullies won't beat me up and take my 20 cent pieces and then kick my arse at the original Tekken, love Draqul. P.S. I have been VERY good.

Alright, I haven't been that good, and although I do subscribe to the annual gift-fest I sincerely doubt doing my assignments on time will guarantee me items one, two or three. I might have shot at four, though - you know those little seven-million-games-in-one jobbies you see in the corners of bars? How would you like one of those instead of your badly put together Ikea coffee table? How about a classic upright arcade cabinet, for those who haven't been playing so long their legs have atrophied and can still stand? How about one with a 29" CRT, a optional light gun for House of the Dead, and Street fighter II? How about that in your Chrissy stocking, eh?

If you happen to be the owner of two thousand, four hundred and ninety nine shiny American dollars, plus I-don't-even-know-how-much more for shipping, you can import yourself a shiny Dreamarcade Vision 29, the latest model courtesy of Dream Arcades, a U.S. company that even now has me glaring enviously States-wards. The basic package comes with 145 games including classic Atari, Namco and Capcom titles, and you can order other game packs such as the Taito set, and accessories such as the afore-mentioned light gun pack or track balls. The system is also set up to act as an MP3 jukebox, and can be customied in various ways including side art and button colour.

Alright, so, basically, it's just a PC in a box loaded up with emulators and licensed roms, and you could certainly build it yourself should you be so inclined (if anybody wants to start doing just that locally I will be very pleased) but there's something about the cabinet or the cocktail table that just screams... screams... play me. I want one.
