Mixed reaction to anything from the CoD franchise here these days M8! Until it's released and we find out just how dedicated the servers will be you'll prolly get 50/50 on who'll be getting it. I'm a dyed in the wool CoD fan and play all but MW2 at the minute because they screwed that up. On the fence for me.

Yeah all good but like i told CFod earlier today Activision have got fuck all to do with this baby, Treyarch or something spelt like that is the lead design for this time around, thats why there will be dedicated servers. Should be nothing like MW2 cause that sucked balls big time, and Activision know they fucked it.

there are a few of us who will be getting it ..................as my bro said but in this little establishment there really isnt any hard core games that members play they play a hole bunch of stuff so its mainly on feed back from new games that gets members interested and from there you may get a following . As for myself i will be getting just 2 add to the collection and hopefully be codjumping it some where as time goes on.......................:)

Treyarch are the people actually making the game & you'll find Activision in the past are the ones who distribute, market & produce (like a producer of a movie) the game & put money behind the maker, so they often have a big say in how things will be, like not allowing dedicated servers.

For me, I won't touch a game by Treyarch after CoDW@W. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, but it was pretty much same old same old & buggy, needing numerous patches to fix.

Unfortunately that's true Jello, but I'd guess they were pushed to get WaW out by said Activision.

Not going anywhere near BlackOp ... will hold out for RO:HoS to be released.

I'm also over the whole modern warefare thing. FFS how many modern warefare FPS's have there been since BF2? Can't the game makers think of anything else these days?

They are all the same stuff, two smallish teams, fighting on some pissant maps. They should be looking at making something different, something large scale.

WWII online is huge, I played it for a time, but it's terribly outdated & I wouldn't pay to play it for that reason. But in saying that the idea is great, it's massive, battles are raging all along the front, you can join in anywhere, so you could jump in on a battle fro a city or in the country side, the weapons are acurate for each class of soldier & each class has limited slots avaiable for each battalion/platoon.

Arma & Arma II is more the thing. I played the demo of ArmaII & it was good, big maps, no bunny hopping & shooting, it was more a sim than a straight forward FPS, but I didn't find there to be a whole lot playing it for some reason.

So, I see most of these modern warefare FPS's as just the same game with better graphics really & no doubt I'll upset some that love them, but that's just my opinion that these games & just the same old, same old.

All good..i just put the feelers out to see what ppls thoughts where...and i agree with most of the comments about Activision, but i think Black Ops will be different...the game will be heaps better with dedicated servers (even though there will be ONLY ONE host server company in Australia) which "BLOWS". Also remember how many WW2 games there are? BLOODY HEAPS was personally getting sick to death of them, Black Ops is actually the "Cold War/Vietnam" era so at least they are doing something different in the "Cold War" scheme of things. The MW theme was a good change and COD4 was great...but the developers are making to many of them now, "quality over quantity" i say. I wish they (THQ) would make a modern Company of Heros but dont think they will. Anyway we will have to wait and see how Black Ops goes, no dout it will break all the records on release date and have all the 14 yr olds soiling themselfs trying to get their grubby little mitts on a copy mumy will buy @ EB games......but i have to say ill be getting it then......not @ EB Games. Fingers crossed its not another "Infinity Ward/Activision MW2" complete FUCK UP....just my 2 cents worth ;)

the way i see it is!
    I DON'T SMOKE
    i drink very little.
my brothers spend $100 on smokes a week.
so if i spend $100 on a game every six month then i see it as good value.
even if the game doe's not meet high exspectaions then i still had some injoyment
    outa the game.
am i just trying to justafi gettting it.yer i am.i see it as better value then me going to the pub/nightclub/smoking/sex with wild woman/ect.
so i will get it and proberly a server aswell.
coz i just like doing thing my way.

Can I suggest Unreal Tournament 3 :p .... yeah and Epic managed to FUCK UP a perfectly good Sci-Fi shoot'em up as well

So its all pretty well screwed, If you look at most games they (apart from what should only be a FEW patches) the community Modders generaly bring the best out of the game anyways.

Nail on the head here. I mean; what other explanation can be found that would explain why counter-strike source has thousands of servers to be found everyday, and many with players on them. Community Modders are the only reason that I see.

I will probably get the game, but money is a little tight so might not be right away, I have the WoW Expansion to get in Dec. I'm looking forward to the Nam part of the game, I really enjoyed BF:Vietnam as something different to the WWII games flooding the market. Will see what happens though!

So true......i dont like CCS but its one of the original FPS games on the market and still going strong....The mod community has keep many a game going after the developers drop the "GAME SUPPORT" when the money stop flowing @ the counters of the retail stores. Lets hope BO will have good "mod support" and the hard core modders will bring the best of the best to the table. Also i think this will be the last in the COD series, THEY CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE TO DO..ITS ALL BEEN DONE so what next??? who knows...as i said earlier id rather "QUALITY OVER QUANTITY" but the developers want "QUANTITY and DOLLARS" over quality....
